Spoilers for Day7, especially ep 20 + possibly 21!!!!
"There's something wrong with you, isn't it?" He instinctively turns around at the sound of her voice. She’s standing in the doorway, her arms crossed in front of her chest, looking so fragile and yet so strong. Her eyes move to the syringe when he pulls it out of his arm. “You're, you're not using again, are you?"
He closes his eyes for a second, taking a deep breath in a futile attempt to control the panic that rises in his chest. Hastily he rolls down his sleeve and gets up, searching her eyes.
"Come here." He takes her arm and settles her into the chair across from him.
"I don't know how to tell you this. It's…“ He looks down at his shaking hands and interlocks his fingers to mask it. He swallows, then looks up and meets her worried gaze.
“I've been exposed to some of the bio weapon." He’s astonished that his voice carries.
Her eyes widen in shock. "Oh. So you…so that's the medication?" She nods towards the little black case
He nods slowly, forcing himself to look at her when he continues: "It's, it masks the symptoms. There's no treatment for this."
"So, you're telling me you're dying?" The pain in her eyes is that intense that it hurts him.
He nods, unable to say anything, fighting the tears that well up behind his eyes.
"No" she whispers, "no!"
"I'm sorry, Chloe" his eyes drift to his hands again. They are shaking even worse now and he hides them under the table.
"But, I don't understand.” He can hear his panic in her voice. “I, you, you don't, you don't die."
Her eyes plead him to tell her she's right.
A hint of a sad smile appears on his face. "I'm afraid I do."
She shakes her head, tears falling from her eyes now. "No, I, there has to be..."
He stops her by reaching out and taking her hand. Softly he shakes his head. "No. There isn't."
Her lips start to tremble when she tries to hold back the tears and he ignores his trembling legs, pushes himself up into a standing position and walks over to her, pulling her into a hug.
"I'm so sorry, Jack" she cries into his shoulder.
He nods. "Yeah" he whispers.
She pulls back and looks at him.
"How long?"
"Probably hours, not days."
She flinches and swallows hard, biting her lip, her eyes never leaving his.
"I need you to know something" she says quietly before leaning closer and placing her lips onto his. Her kiss is soft, tender and startling in its familiarity and Jack feels himself respond in kind, tears falling from his eyes.
There are fesh tears in her eyes as well when they part.
He tenderly runs his thumb over her cheek, wiping away some of the moisture and she leans into his touch.
She nods. "I know. I love you, too."
They smile at each other through their tears, for a moment unwilling to face the inevitable.
"I'm going to be there" she then says quietly, trailing her fingers over the side of his face.
His voice is hoarse when he says: "I was hoping you would. I can’t do this without you.”

Comments
I loved it thanks for sharing :D
I love the way you write, such a intense and raw drabble!!! :-)
This is perfect in every way.
"Dammit proteins! Just do it!"
Or his immune system simply tortures them back into the right conformation. I just don't understand why the proteins in the first place thought that misfolding was an option ;)
But well, if someone could use some memory loss it would be Jack. Might make him forget some of the past.
But I'm actually not sure if they want to fix this... maybe that's just it?
